City Walls
Deadline: April 5
Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC), in partnership with the MetroTech BID, is seeking proposals from Brooklyn-based artists and collectives for artwork to be installed on construction fences on 3 sites in downtown Brooklyn.  Proposed works should have strong visual impact and be accessible and appropriate for the general public. Chosen artists/collective will receive a $1,000 honorarium.

Are you planning a cultural event in Brooklyn taking place between June 5 and September 1, 2010 that features African American, Afro Caribbean and/or African-based artforms and artists? BAC would like to include it in our Black Brooklyn Renaissance Community Calendar of Events. We're creating a print and online calendar of summer events that will not only include Black Brooklyn Renaissance programs produced by BAC, but also related events happening throughout the borough.

The Dance Gallery 2010
Deadline: April 9 (extended)  The Dance Gallery 2010, a national dance festival in its fourth year, is looking for concert dance choreographers. This is an exciting opportunity for choreographers to present larger works in a fully produced dance festival that will take place in NYC and the Houston Metro Area this Fall.

White Wave
Deadline: April 23 WHITE WAVE invites you to submit applications for two thrilling upcoming festivals to be presented this fall: the 10th Anniversary DUMBO DANCE FESTIVAL (September 23rd–26th) and 5th Annual WAVE RISING SERIES (October 20th–November 7th).

The Art Bazaar
Deadline: April 10
The Art Bazaar is looking for recent grads to participate at The Affordable Art Fair! The Art Bazaar and Lyons Wier Gallery, in collaboration with the Affordable Art Fair (AAF), is curating a booth at the AAF of recent MFA and/or BFA graduates who reside in Brooklyn. The juried booth exhibit entitled “Recent Graduates hosted by The Art Bazaar”, is a collaboration with the Affordable Art Fair’s “I ♥ Brooklyn” celebration. This is an exciting exhibition and networking opportunity for recent graduates to gain vital exposure in New York City. Reel Love Poetry Film Contest
Deadline: April 30
The PoetrySpeaks.com Reel Love Poetry Film Contest encourages artists to share their artistic visions and love of poetry with us and our community. They seek poetry film submissions based on what the artist considers to be the greatest love poem. They want to see an interpretation of the text brought to life in a short film.

SUPERFRONT BK
Deadline: May 8
SUPERFRONT BK is accepting proposals from local non-profits, community groups, arts programs, or other civic-minded groups that could use a semi-outdoor space this summer. SUPERFRONT will orchestrate the design and construction of this temporary space in the beginning of July for the winning organization's use, and the space will open to the public from July 15 through August 15, 2010.

Non-Native New York
Deadline: May 14
Non-Native New York is a curatorial project that celebrates the cultural and artistic contributions that immigrant artists are making that have largely been overlooked. Artists from varied backgrounds and art experiences are invited to submit their work, including emerging artists, hobbyists with little or no formal art background, as well as artists with many years’ experience. Selected artists will be featured in an exhibition in Fall 2010, as well as an exhibition catalog, an evening of artists talks, and a project website.

Infinity Art Gallery
Deadline: June 1
Infinity Art Gallery announces an open call to artists to submit work to be exhibited for the Summer Expo 2010. An unlimited variety of medium and disciplines are accepted, and an unlimited variety of subjects and styles are eligible. Finalists will be selected for artistic excellence, which includes concept and mastery of technique. All exhibits take place online at InfinityArtGallery.com and showcase artwork by international contemporary artists.
We are inviting musicians and songwriters to submit an original song about September 11th, the event itself, its aftermath or its effects. A selection of songs will be performed live on September 11th, 2009 from 5–8pm in DUMBO. All songs submitted will be archived in the Brooklyn Arts Council Folk Arts Archive.

Managing Cash Flow For Artists
his five-week workshop covers strategies for organizing expenses, balancing multiple sources of income and planning for dry spells. We also discuss tips for aligning your professional and financial goals. The Orientation session on May 20th is required for anyone wishing to participate in the workshop, but it is also open without obligation to anyone who simply wants to find out more about what is included in the program.

Theater Sub-district Council Grant Program
Deadline for Intent to Apply Forms: April 9
The Department of City Planning and the Department of Cultural Affairs have announced the second round of the Theater Sub-district Council Grant Program, designed to recognize the vital role that theater plays in the overall economic and social well-being of New York City. No more than 15 - 20 awards are expected to be made in this second round; awards will be for $50,000 or more.

The Likhachev Foundation
Deadline: April 12
The Likhachev Foundation, the Committee on External Relations of St. Petersburg, and the Fund of the First Russian President Boris N. Yeltsin is offering a two-week curatorial fellowship in St. Petersburg, Russia, from August 23 to September 5, 2010 for American professionals in the fields of arts and culture who work on projects related to Russian culture.

The Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City
Deadline: April 16
The Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City invites eligible artists, designers, organizations, and nonprofits living or operating within New York City to propose temporary design solutions to renew the surface treatments at all five plazas and smaller ancillary spaces on Broadway from 42nd to 47th Streets. The temporary treatment is expected to be installed mid-July and will remain in place for approximately eight months; the selected artist will be awarded a $15,000 design fee.

National Jazz.NEXT Program

Deadline: June 1
National Jazz.NEXT Program is offering support for technology-based capacity building efforts. Grants of up to $75,000 will be awarded to jazz artists or nonprofits providing services to jazz artists or organizations that utilize technology applications to address capacity-building endeavors in their communities.
